I had the most amazing chat with Erika and had to share with you.
When Erika found Slimpod, she wasn’t looking for another programme.
She wasn’t even sure change was still possible. At 73, life was good – she’d built a successful career as a leadership coach, authored six books, and was living in the Spanish countryside with her husband. But there was one piece that hadn’t clicked.
Food.
“I just weighed more than I wanted to,” she told us. “And I had quietly accepted that maybe this is just what happens now.”
But something in her hadn’t quite given up.
A mindset shift – not a plan
What caught Erika’s attention was the word mindset. It wasn’t about another food plan or new rules. She had already done the work on herself – decades of shifting her inner narrative, building self-belief, and helping others do the same.
But Slimpod offered a quiet shift she hadn’t expected.
“I eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m satisfied. That’s it. It sounds simple, but I had never been able to do that before.”
There was no battle. No willpower. Just clarity and ease – something she hadn’t experienced around food since she was 13.
Challenging old beliefs
One moment in particular stood out. Listening to Trevor ( the voice of the pods) speak, Erika recognised a belief she hadn’t realised she was carrying:
“That older women are supposed to be round. That you can’t be older and slender unless you’re unwell.”
It hit her. She didn’t really believe that. She didn’t want to believe it. And in that moment, she gave herself permission to think differently.
Slimpod helped her do the rest.
The final piece of the puzzle
What makes Erika’s story so powerful isn’t just the change in how she eats – though that’s significant. It’s how naturally her body is shifting to what she calls its “happiest size,” simply by responding to real cues, not outdated beliefs.
“I feel like Slimpod helped the outside of me catch up to the inside,” she said. “Strong, light, calm, and capable.”
This wasn’t a transformation driven by urgency or shame. It was a return to something she’d been building all along.
A message for anyone who’s still unsure
Erika describes Slimpod as the missing piece. Not because it gave her something she didn’t have – but because it reminded her of what was already there.
Her advice?
“Keep it simple. Be kind to yourself. If you do those two things, everything will be fine.”
As we move through November – a month that often invites reflection – Erika’s story is a reminder that growth doesn’t stop because of age, status, or how long something’s felt stuck.
Sometimes, all it takes is a gentle nudge in the right direction… and the confidence to try again.
If you can relate to Erika’s story, know this: you’re not too late. You’re just getting started.
